Aneta Kopeć

Prof. dr hab. Aneta Kopeć, is an employee of the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Food technology, University of Agriculture in Krakow. Area of research the impact of bioactive food compounds (polyphenolic compounds, plant sterols) on health and assesses the nutrition of various groups of the population. Additionally the research area is connected with the alternative sources of iodine in comparison to iodised salt.

Karolina Jarosińska

Karolina is the Founder and Managing Director of ExecMind, Life Science Executive Search company, based in Krakow, Poland. She has been working in the recruitment industry for over 15 years and possesses significant experience in talent acquisition for senior scientific and C-level positions on European market. In 2015, she started ExecMind, and 4 years later, the company is a leader in scientific and executive recruitment in Poland for biotech, biopharma and medtech industries. The company is a member of internationally-recognized Life Sciences organizations.

Karolina is actively involved in integrating Life Science community in Poland. As a member of Life Science Cluster in Krakow, she supports and promotes cluster activities within biotech, pharma and medtech communities on the international stage.

Karolina Tkaczuk

Dr Karolina Tkaczuk brings to Sano a combination of research and business experience through her work at the external technology transfer office, IP protection entities, seed and venture capitals, as well as the medtech industry. She has always worked at the edge of innovation and projects targeting real life problems with high commercialization potential, including newest trends in the application of AI in life sciences and personalized medicine. Over the years she filled in a role of a “bridge” between science and industry.

She holds a PhD Eng in Biotechnology with specialty in bioinformatics and technical biochemistry. Her scientific area of interest were: molecular modelling of protein structures in particular methyltransferases, drug discovery, structure genomics and crystallisation. She authored and co-authored a number of scientific publications and book chapters, as well as popular science articles for such magazines as for example Nature. In the academic times she was a board member of Young European Biotech Network (YEBN, www.yebn.eu ) and collaborated with European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB, www.efbiotechnology.org ). She also supports number of foundations, in the past she collaborated with Ron Brown Scholar Program (www.ronbrown.org) and currently she also volunteers at Polonium Foundation (https://poloniumfoundation.org ) and worked in the task group that created and launched Polonium Network platform (www.poloniumnetwork.org) dedicated to Polish scientist all over the world.

Grzegorz Palka

Grzegorz Palka - MSc engineer - expert in the design, commissioning and validation of project and research installations in the pharmaceutical, food and cosmetic industries, graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow. After 20 years of work for industry, he succeeded in the design and launch of analytical and specialist laboratories (BioBank). He has devoted the last 5 years to the implementation of modern analytical techniques in Quality Control and R&D laboratories. He cooperates with design and construction companies as an expert on GMP and HACCAP. He currently plays the role of the director of the laboratory. Privately – passionate about hiking and Science-Fiction films

Maciej Guzik

Maciej Guzik graduated from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow with a master's degree in environmental protection in 2008. Then he started doctoral studies at University College Dublin in Ireland. At that time, Maciej specialized in the development of high cell density fermentation, processing of polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), as well as genetic manipulation of bacteria. In 2012, he presented a doctoral dissertation entitled "Conversion of polyethylene coming from consumers into a biodegradable polyhydroxyalkanoate polymer" and successfully graduated from UCD with a PhD in industrial microbiology. In the following years, Maciej worked at the UCD spin out company Bioplastech, where he was responsible for the development of fermentation strategies for the production of PHA. He was also the leader of a project to produce small molecules derived from PHA. In 2015, he returned to Krakow, his hometown, and started working at the J. Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry, PAN. In 2021 he obtained a postdoctoral degree in chemistry. He conducts inntensive research related to biopolymers.

Mikołaj Gurdała

Mikołaj Gurdała is an expert with extensive experience in the field of EU funds, technology transfer as well as research and development, he has got significant knowledge in the field of cross-sectoral cooperation. At EIT Health, one of the largest international organizations dealing with innovative medicine and healthcare in Europe, he is responsible for the development of innovative projects linking universities, business and industry. He was one of the co-founders of the so-called InnoStars region, created within EIT Health's geographic area covering developing countries in the field of innovation. Before joining EIT Health, Mikołaj Gurdała was the director and co-founder of Flavopharma, as well as the director of research, strategy and development at the Medical University of Lodz. Areas of specialization: development of new companies and start-ups in the field of ICT and commercialization of scientific results, intellectual property management and strategic development, change management, as well as mentoring and coaching.

Anna Sowa-Jadczyk

Deputy director of the Department of Innovation and Business Development of MARR SA. A graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University and postgraduate studies at the University of Warsaw and the Academy of Leon Kozminski. She is a patent attorney and has the status of an IPR Taiex expert of the European Commission. She completed internships at the European Commission, Austrian and German Patent Offices, as well as at the Patent Court in Munich. Anna has got 16 years of experience in implementing and managing EU projects, including international ones. She participated in the creation and development of 2 seed funds with a total value of PLN 28 million and supervises their functioning.

She plays a role of the chairman of the Investment Committee at MARR SA. She is an intellectual property specialist. For 12 years associated with the start-up environment (including advising on technology transfer, commercialization), she has completed investments worth about PLN 20 million. She advises on the legal aspects of the operations of capital companies, participates in the valuation of in-kind contributions, business modeling, takes part in the preparation and negotiation of investment agreements, evaluates business plans for innovative ventures. Author of publications related to intellectual property law. Speaker at international and national conferences.
